Explore the body, mind and spirit and what it means to feel really alive. Through Forrest Yoga, bring to life various sections of our bodies contributing to an expansive breath and scintillating sensations in the body. Explore aliveness through various layers of our existence – physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. Feel alive through the smallest sensations in the body, the tiniest fluctuations in feelings, thoughts, emotions. Aliveness is feeling simply nourished with breath, re-connecting with our home in the temple of our bodies and sensing joy in movement.
SATURDAY: FEELING THE GROUND – 08 am to 10 am
Explore the quality of contact we have with the earth. Learning to move and walk in a grounded way has significant implications to not just the aliveness that we feel in the legs and the hips, but also to the presence with which we walk our life’s journey. This workshop will leave you empowered, grounded and renewed in your purpose.
SATURDAY: EXPLORING THE HEART THROUGH GROUNDING – 11 am to 1.30 pm
How does one cultivate an expansive breath that traverses the entire torso to explore sensations and emotions that we hold around the ribcage and the heart? The heart is our feeling organ – how does the heart respond when we intentionally create space around the heart? How alive does the heart feel? What do we need to do to listen to the heart and to bring it life? These are the questions we will explore as we delve into a deep back-bending practice.
SUNDAY: ENLIVENING THE CORE – 08 am to 10 am
Sensing the aliveness in the core. In Forrest Yoga – core refers to the column of the body from top of crown to pelvic floor. We will explore therapeutic, baby backbends as a way of exploring into the abdominal area. Many of us, without even knowing it, hold a lot of tension or numbness in the belly – an area devoid of armouring or bone. Through enlivening abdominal work and therapeutic backbends, we will explore what we hold in our home of intuition.
SUNDAY: ALIVENESS IN STRENGTH, SOFTNESS AND RELINQUISHING CONTROL – 11 am to 1.30 pm
Where does control sit in your body? We will feel into where we feel the need to control our moment to moment experience, with specific focus on the neck and jaw. How can one work strength and softness simultaneously in a way that allows us to truly experience the moment without the blockages that are brought on when we control our experience. Use inversions and a hip opening practice to feel into how we short circuit our aliveness when we control our experience.
